Letter From The Chief

Dear Residents,

Hello to you and your household from everyone at the Pueblo West Fire Department. I can assure you that the community you live in is protected by a group of professionals who take pride in serving their community.

The fire department is considered a combination service that has 18 career and 32 volunteers who operate from three fire stations utilizing 12 pieces of equipment. We respond to all type of emergency situations including fires, emergency medical services (EMS), hazardous materials situations, specialized rescues and disaster response emergencies.
Our firefighters actively participate in many other non emergency activities such as fire prevention programs, fire safety education and various community events.

Because we live in a community of significant open spaces, I would like to remind everyone to be firewise and keep vegetation around your property to a minimum to reduce the risk of fire danger in and around your property. What may seem like a small prairie fire can rapidly change to involve structures. Your conscientious efforts could mean the difference in saving your home or your neighbors.

If you are interested in learning more about your fire department I encourage you to visit with us at the fire stations. We are always happy to talk with people so that everyone knows what we do and how proud we are of it.

If you have any questions concerning our department or the services we provide please contact our administrative offices at (719) 547-7337.

Sincerely,

Brian K. Caserta
